sim update – June 2021

dear Reader, Dear Friends of sim

We apologize, we delayed our May update to June, but for good reasons:
Besides the regular mandates and duties, many new and additional projects came up:
First, we had our team-outing at the end of the May, during which we could over three days in a very nice
villa enhance the communication and collaboration (especially the cooking!) within the team.
Second, preparations for our office renovation has started full speed and we moved into a temporary
location in the meantime.

As we constantly aim to provide our employees and customers with the best possible working environment,
and after almost 11 years after building our A Mansion office, it’s time for an extension and a renovation. We
will show you the result.

And last but certainly not least: sim’s 15th YEARS ANNIVERSARY is around the corner: on June 25th, we
will celebrate this amazing milestone!

So yes, we are busy, but its happy busy!

Before the hot summer hits, we wish you all a lovely June, even though the rainy season just started hitting
Shanghai yesterday.

Enjoy your reading

CHINA UPDATE

China has already distributed some 200 million Yuan (US$30.7 million) in digital currency as part of pilot
projects across the country.

The city Shanghai alone will distribute 350,000 digital ‘hongbaos’ (red gifting envelopes) with 55 Yuan each to
its habitants, e-CNY icons have already been posted in some convenient stores in Shanghai, which accept the
e-CNY in this pilot phase.

China has not yet announced an official timetable for the official launch of its Digital Currency Electronic Payment
(DCEP) system, but we can see in real life that it is moving forward swiftly with the implementation.
Please get in touch with us for updated information if you are interested.
